2004   PORSCHE   CAYENNE "S"    -  I found this beautiful Porsche Cayenne SUV through one of my insurance contacts in February of this year. MSRP: $69,665 Price purchased: $38,500. It had sustained light damage across the right side. The insurance claims form explained how the driver had it parked on a sloped driveway and it came out of gear, scraped against a pole. So it wasn't a high speed collision or anything.  Bumped the pole with enough force to trigger the airbags, but only cosmetic damage to the bumper. Blown bags are a bit expensive, but for the price I was going to buy it for, was worth the investment. but was a quick easy fix! Had only been driven 1,323 miles! Owner was some sort of business person so put a significant amount down when it was first bought. The balance (and maximum) it could be sold for was $38,500. I paid $475 to have it inspected and shipped to me. 

I kind of kick myself on this deal because I could have made so much more money on it if I spent some time and was patient. But Ultimate Electronics was having a sale on their 50" Plasma Flat Screen televisions, and I wanted to pay for it with my next auto sale and not take cash out of the bank (and a lot easier to explain to my wife when I come home with new toys. Justifying my toys...yes, but you do what you have to keep peace when you're married).  Anyway, I could have easily taken this to a shop, had the repairs done and listed it for sale as a steal in about 4 weeks when it was showroom condition again for about $55,000 and had it sold the first first week.  But, like I said, my TV was calling me from Ultimate Electronics showroom, so I listed it for sale "AS IS" with all of the problems detailed for $46,000. I had 21 voicemail messages and over 30 emails the first week. I had a buyer come by with a cashiers check already made out...so I  "reluctantly" came down to $43,500.  The buyer was happy because he got over a $20,000 discount vs. new and will make a tidy profit when he resells.  I was happy because I made a quick $5,000! Plus I showed him how he could buy his 20" rims through me at a discount and made another $800.
